| If you happened to die today, do you know for
sure where you would go? You might think that it is impossible for anyone
to know this, you may be thinking that only God can know things like that.
Well, God has told us through the Bible that we can know.
"I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life." 1 John 5:13 This is an amazing Bible verse because it tells us that we can live the rest of our days knowing for sure that we will spend eternity in paradise! Here's the Good News... First of all it's important to know that it is impossible for any of us to get to heaven on our own power. A common misconception is that if the good we do outweighs the bad we do, God will let us in. Here's what God say's about that... "For it is by Grace you have been saved, through faith - and this not from yourselves it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast." Ephesians 2:8-9 Actually, God say's we are way too sinful to get to heaven on our own, no matter how good we are: "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23 Therefore, we need some other way to be ensured that we will spend eternity in paradise...we need someone else to help us get there, we need our sins forgiven. God is a loving God, God is also a just God and will not let sin into his perfect paradise to ruin it. "In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness." Hebrews 9:22 "we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all." Hebrews 10:10 Jesus died for us to cleanse us from our sin, which seperates us from God. The wonderful thing is that death had no power over Jesus, three days later He rose from the dead! Since Jesus conquered sin and death, we also will be risen from the dead to live forever in heaven with Jesus. "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." So what do you need to do. The Bible say's... "That if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God rose Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved." Romans 10:9-10 "For, Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." Romans 10:13 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." John 14:6 "I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents." Luke 15:10 If you would like to become a Christian then please pray the prayer below, or a prayer of your own. Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and that I deserve to pay for all the sins I have commited, but I do believe that You died for me to pay the debt that I owe. Today, the best I know how, I trust you as my Lord and my Saviour. Please forgive me for all I have done wrong and help me to live for You. I will depend on You from this moment on for my salvation. Please fill me with your Holy Spirit and guide me in all I do and say. Thank you. Amen.
